All of the bathroom privacy fences have now been replaced with redwood lumber that certainly improves the looks and will stand up well to our ever-changing desert weather. As we continue upgrades, all of the trim will be painted in the new colors as well.

As we continue cleaning up and revitalizing the campground, we’ve chosen a new trim color that eventually will appear on all of the buildings. We think it gives Cathedral Palms a fresh new look and hope you agree!

Game Night!

Each Thursday night, a group of campers gathers in the new clubhouse for game night, and each week there seem to be more in attendance. These folks will soon be headed “back home” for the summer but we’ll definitely be making this a regular activity next season when the Snowbirds return for our warm weather and hospitality.

Clear skies and warm (sometimes HOT) weather are common in the desert. However, when storms pass through, the clouds provide spectacular sunsets and sunrises. On those very rare rainy days, the sights can be amazing, as in this rainbow captured from Cathedral Palms RV Resort on a recent afternoon.

A bit of rain for us, snowfall on Mt. San Jacinto

Beautiful, warm, sunny weather brings the Snowbirds to Cathedral Palms RV Resort year after year. As you can see from the panorama, the skies are clear with plenty of sunshine and a full resort with lots of happy campers enjoying the winter season.

Keep in mind we accept reservations 30 days in advance so don’t be left out next year, make plans and call ahead.

It’s Super!

When the Big Game is on, time for a party!

Once the big holiday season is over, there is of course one more BIG event and that’s the Super Bowl. Our campers gathered in the clubhouse to celebrate and root for their favorite teams.

Let’s see, just exactly how does this game work?

While very big in the Midwest, the game of Corn Hole is relatively unknown here in California. But, as these photos show, anyone, from kids to grandmas, can play!

We recently hosted a family from Germany and as you can see, from the youngest to the oldest, they had a great time learning the game from one of our campers.

When you’re doing your summer traveling and stop in at our Ohio resort, Tomorrow’s Stars, you’ll find Corn Hole tournaments are a regular activity with games being held for both adults and kids, so, when you have the chance, give it a try – it’s a very fun and addictive sport!

Sheila’s First Art Show

Sheila’s first art show, held in the Cathedral Palms clubhouse

Our own Sheila Remington (second from right), besides handling office and cleaning duties, is our resident massage therapist (notice the massage chair in the corner) and also a budding artist. Recently she displayed several of her abstract works in the new clubhouse for everyone to see. An interested group of campers joined Sheila for some wine and cheese while they viewed and admired her work.

The multi-purpose clubhouse is finished!

Parts of this remodel were certainly a challenge but we got it done! Now everyone can enjoy the comfort of the new clubhouse. We have plenty of electrical outlets to accommodate laptop computers (to take advantage of our free wireless Internet services) or to plug in some roasters for a great meal.

So far, we’ve had two successful dinners here, there’s a poker tournament scheduled for tonight and an art show on Saturday. Come enjoy!

Winter at Cathedral Palms

Christmas day, perfect for working on our tans!

While other parts of the country are experiencing harsh winter weather, here at Cathedral Palms RV Resort we’re enjoying sun-filled days and cool nights. We did, however, enjoy a White Christmas – if you count the view of snow-covered Mt. San Jacinto in the distance! For these three Happy Campers, the holidays were warm enough to get out and work on their tans. In the photo above, you might notice a fourth visitor enjoying a taste of holiday cheer…look below for the enlarged detail.

Clubhouse progress…

The new clubhouse (in the office building next to the pool) is taking shape! Above, you can see what it looks like now. Walls repaired, textured and painted (thanks Jason!) and a drop ceiling installed (thanks Jason, Jim and Don).

We didn’t have time to install the tile floor before our Thanksgiving potluck but even without it, the room looked much better than before – see below for the “Before” pictures.
